Shivani Singh

Shivani is a seasoned development professional with over 11 years of experience in the sector. After completing her Bachelors in Social Work from Delhi University and Masters in Social Work from the prestigious Nirmal Niketan College of Social Work, Mumbai University, she started her career, working at the grassroots level. She has travelled the length and breadth of the country to the remotest of parts, seeking knowledge and new challenges. She worked with Pragya, where she travelled extensively to the remotest villages of Ladakh, Kargil, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Rajasthan. Then as a principal researcher with PRIA for a project under the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare, she concluded her research on the ‘Multiple Vulnerabilities faced by Tribal Women of Jharkhand’. She has conducted several gender trainings and managed gender-related projects across India for Ford Foundation and UN Women, where she campaigned to end violence against women. She has also developed training modules on ‘Membership Based Organisation of Poor’ and ‘Strategically Organising the Urban Poor’ while working in SEWA, Ahmedabad. Along with the other feathers in her cap, Shivani has managed several Corporate Social Responsibility projects as well. At CAF India she worked as a manager-civil society advisory and partnership. She has now moved to Chennai and continues to be associated with CAF India, helping the organisation expand its base in southern India. She is currently working as Manger- Business Development in Chennai, CAF India.
